They put a strain on every area of our lives.

Think about how your life is affected by the holidays. How does it affect your stress in the areas of health, finances, time, energy and relationships?

Even if you love the holidays with all your heart, there are still stresses.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a very special stress reduction technique that not only makes you feel better emotionally, but can also dramatically reduces and sometimes even eliminates physical ailments and issues. This is because our emotional state has a direct and fairly immediate affect on our physical state caused by muscle tension and body chemistry.

Many of our life difficulties come out of fears and emotional obstacles inside ourselves in the form of beliefs about ourselves and the world that may not be supportive to your well being and success in life. Would you like to be able to identify and remove those blocks easily and quickly? If yes, then I highly recommend you attend this seminar.

Our behaviors run on beliefs and feelings programmed by past reactions to emotional experiences.

Some of our programming is distracting, counterproductive, or downright self destructive.

EFT is a powerful and gentle systematic process for reprogramming the thinking that steers you off track in life.

EFT uses acupressure meridians and whole-brain learning to dramatically accelerate your desired changes in thinking and behavior patterns.

This allows you to breakthrough, move forward and take action with noticeably greater confidence.

EFT is generally considered an energy healing technique... more accurately, it's in the field of energy psychology. But you don't need to have any unusual magical energy powers to do it. You don't even have to believe it will work... it'll work anyway. It's a very systematic and measurable process for clearing your specific issues. Anyone can do it, yourself included.

*** When:
I'll be running the seminar twice on Tuesday December 16th.
- Once at lunch time (Noon till 1:30)
- Once after work (5:45 till 7:15)

*** Where:
Trina Koster Photography ( in the Flo workshop space), 260 Waterloo Avenue, Guelph, Ontario. 519-767-2948.

*** Who:
I'm Scott Mooney, life coach and EFT practitioner. I'm dedicated to teaching people like you and me how to improve and develop your sense of ease and power in life.

*** How Much:
These seminars are $20 each to attend. You'll get the second session for half price if you come to both.

Payment in cash or cheque are preferred, but we do have debit
and credit card if need be.

*** How:
Just send me a quick email to scott@coachwithscott.com letting me know which seminar(s) you are coming to. Seating is limited to 25 people per class so I'll need to know you are coming.

During the seminar you can just follow along. I'll give you a handout with lots of info, and I'll stick around after the session to answer any questions.

I want you to have an experience with this seminar that will improve how you feel and give you the very beginnings of a virtual superpower... the ability to heal, strengthen, and clear your mind body and spirit.

These seminars are actual group coaching sessions and you'll probably experience some noticeable positive shifts on the spot. During the class I will be giving you some resources to explore how you can use EFT on your own or with a guide.

Bring a notebook and pen, because you'll want to take a few notes.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you there!

Cheers!
Scott

Holiday Stress Relief with EFT!

A 90 Minute Seminar on How You Can Beat the Holiday Blues With this Simple Three-step Acupressure Tapping Procedure.

Last year's seminars were great!
There’s lots of great strategic advice on the net for things you can do to lower your stress. However, one immediate thing you can do is change your emotional response to these and other seasonal scenarios, people, and things that trigger these reactions.

What!? Change my emotional response? How do I do that?

EFT (aka Emotional Freedom Technique) is a powerful tool for swift and radical emotional tension relief.

EFT is a safe and non-invasive technique that works directly on the energy system to lower emotional intensity, which causes tension, which causes or perpetuates a plethora of issues. Reduce the emotional strain and you reduce the engine behind the issue. Get the emotional intensity down to zero and you might just discover some special healing you weren’t sure was possible.

I’m holding a series of seminars on it this coming week where we will be doing EFT together as a group. You’ll likely get some immediate relief and you’ll also learn to do a simplified version of EFT on your own for self healing and stress relief.

I’m a level two EFT practitioner and life coach. The EFT process is known to positively effect both physical and emotional issues and I’ve used it with people to create instant relief for migraines, cramps, arthritis pain, phobias (including fear of driving, fear of public speaking, and fear of authority figures), anxiety, headaches, stomach aches, nausea.

We’ve had very good success with long term coaching for trauma, anxiety, and building self esteem, confidence, and a sense of purpose. This is an excellent tool for positive life transformation.

The seminars are short 90 minute sessions. But sometimes we resist stuff even if we're quite sure it is right for us. Seems weird, right? It could be self sabotage. It could simply be the natural resistance to change in general. Or perhaps it's something else. In any case, here's a little thing I wrote for my computer's desktop image and screen saver to help me remember a valuable principle... that the discomfort of resistance is actually a good sign! It means you are growing and pushing your way towards the sunlight! Pushing your way past the limitations of your comfort zone. Here's what I wrote:

Feeling resistance to stuff?
GOOD!
Congratulations!

That means you're growing!
Pushing your envelope!
Exploring new territory!
Escaping your comfort zone!

Way to go, Champ!

Here, I'll post the jpeg image for you to use as your desktop pattern (looks good on a black background) on your computer.

Life Change via Belief Change Work

My mentor, coach and friend, Paul Cutright, emailed me a Quote today which very succinctly explains the idea of how we create our own "realities" with our thoughts.

"The power of memories and expectations is such that for most human beings, the past and the future are not as real, but rather more real than the present." --- Alan Watts

The good news is that we can change our interpretations of our key formative memories, and we can change our expectations of our future far more easily than you might think. This is a very powerful bit of knowledge when it comes to making a life change, self development, and managing our emotions.

Some of us think that our interpretations are the real and absolute truth and would strongly oppose the idea that we can change those perceptions and thus change our results. Others of us do have a sense that we can change our interpretations and perceptions and that this would change how we feel about things and how we respond to things and thus change our results in life.

If you're in the first category, you're probably not even reading this because you think it's stupid... or you're fervently gathering your evidence to oppose the idea... or perhaps you are open to exploring the possibility, and I invite you to read on.

If you're in the second category you may be wondering why it's so hard to change some of those interpretations and perceptions. The reason it's hard is that back when we made these decisions, or agreements with ourselves that "this is what such and such means so I have to respond like such and such", often these decisions were made while in a state of very intense emotion... very often the emotion of fear.

When you have an experience with a powerful emotional response in yourself, this experience and your interpretation and decisions about it gets very deeply ingrained into your memory, your energy system, your subconscious mind, and your body (including bodily responses). It gets lodged there. Your decision becomes a deeply held belief for you. Maybe it really is true. Maybe it's only partly true. Maybe it is only true under certain circumstances but you're system is automatically applying it to all situations.

Here's the rub... the vast majority of these life altering, life directing decisions that you live by today were created by the emotional understanding and intellect of a very small child, between the ages of zero and six years old. That child was you learning how the world works at a very early stage in your development.

When your decision becomes a deeply held belief often no amount of logical understanding to the contrary will remove the response. Sometimes a very deep new insight can partially or fully dislodge it. Sometimes your belief leads you to a very painful crisis which finally gives you enough emotional charge to create a new decision, a new agreement with yourself of what such and such means and how you will respond to it.

Do we have to wait for a painful crisis to change our deepest held beliefs for the better? No. In fact, if you just let a new crisis change it randomly, you might end up replacing the old belief... or simply layering on top of it... with an equally distorting and unsupportive belief.

"So NOW what do I do?!"

You take conscious control of your personal evolution. You break your old unsupportive agreements with yourself and make new, more supportive decisions about what things mean and how you will respond to them.

"It's so overwhelming... Where do I start?!"

You start simple, with whatever is bothering you right now. Whatever is bothering you today is the place where your beliefs are in conflict with your present experience with the world. What's bothering you today is the most prominent thing creating friction, holding you back from really going for your dreams... or for some its a prominent belief that holds you back from even daring to dream.

This is where Belief Change Work comes in. Paul Cutright and his wife and partner Layne Cutright, (both of them EFT masters) have created a comprehensive system, based on their respective 30 years of personal development and relationship coaching, for doing just this. It's called the Conscious Upset Resolution Exercise... appropriately acronymed "the CURE", which teaches you a very clear and user friendly method for using your upsets as a growth opportunity, a way of discovering the core beliefs you hold that are causing you this friction, and stress, and pain.

Once you have discovered an unsupportive core belief you can change it, and far more easily and painlessly than you might think. The technique I use with my clients is called "Emotional Freedom Techniques", commonly referred to as EFT. In the hands of a talented trained practitioner EFT is extraordinarily powerful, and surprisingly painless. It's an Energy Psychology method. It is not "talk therapy". It's based on the energy meridian healing system of Chinese Medicine's Acupuncture. (I've written an article about EFT, called "Be Free with EFT", which is posted here in this blog if you scroll down... or simply click here.) EFT involves tapping on certain acupressure points while tuning your attention in to the issue that you'd like to deal with.

I'm an EFT practitioner and I can help you with this over the phone. EFT is generally self administered with live guidance from an experienced coach and we can do it from anywhere in the world with a telephone. Call me at 519-766-4680, or visit my EFT site at www.eft-in-guelph.com for details. You could start with getting my free mini course which includes my illustrated EFT Cheat Sheet, my teaching article "Be Free with EFT", and a series of tutorials that help you with the common setbacks I've come across with myself and my clients (to be emailed to you in bite sized chunks over a few weeks period). Just sign up for it in the form close to the top right hand column of the blog (www.ArtOfSelfDevelopment.com).

You can even learn to do EFT yourself with a bit of study. You can purchase Paul Cutright's excellent 5 hour EFT home study course (a very affordable $119.95 USD at the time of this writing) by clicking here. This course was one of my earliest trainings in EFT and the things I was able to help myself and others with after taking this course were astounding. The course consists of a set of downloadable audios and printable PDF manuals, and a short series of videos to be viewed on-line. I've listened to the audios several times over and each time I do it makes me an even better practitioner.

And you can find Paul and Layne's CURE training in their book "You're Never Upset for the Reason you Think" (click here). At the moment I am studying on the coaching track of Paul and Layne's "Relationship Savvy" course which will train me more deeply in using the CURE with my clients. I've been using it with my own upsets and really discovering my core issues so that I can gently tap them away with EFT and Paul's guidance.

And if you want to really get into a lot of information and training for EFT you can check out the official EFT website and it's resources by clicking here. There are several sets of training DVDs and a huge archive of articles that grows by leaps and bounds weekly, a newsletter chock full of case studies, and more.

These things really work. They've worked wonders with me, and with my clients. It's a very rare case that doesn't get some relief from this. In fact, I've never had a client who didn't receive some noticeable relief from their pain or distress. Most of the time we can create huge relief, huge shifts... and often total relief.

To your success in any endeavor,
Scott Mooney
Personal Breakthrough and
Emotional Freedom Coach
www.eft-in-guelph.com
www.ArtOfSelfDevelopment.com

Radical Personal Responsibility...

... and the Way of the Enlightened Warriror

I really know what it feels like when circumstances seem to be dictating my behavior. Believe me, I've been there... a lot. Sometimes it gets really tough to feel like you have any choices in life. The trick is to realize that it's all choices. There's nothing but choices, and that's where your power resides.

Patience through the tough stuff. It'll pass. You're still in your power. It doesn't mean you can control everything, but it does mean you can acknowledge your choices. Realize that everything you're doing is a choice you're making... even if it's a choice you don't like... and thus you are still in your power. As soon as you start believing you are not choosing your actions, then you fall into the victim role, and are literally handing your power over to someone or something else.

Something my EFT and life coach, Paul Cutright, taught me last week is that when people don't control themselves they invite others to control them. Institutions take control of their lives, or people treat them harshly to try to keep them in check. A warrior is not someone who conquers others, but someone who conquers themselves. Meaning, they've conquered the things inside themselves that stop them from going for what they want. You're in your power when you know that everything you do is a choice you are making... even if you don't like the choice... And that's okay. Just know that you are growing towards being able to make other choices you prefer. This is radical personal responsibility.

Taking radical personal responsibility means letting go of blame... even of blaming yourself... and taking action to rectify to the best of your ability... and the ability of the people you recruit to help you. The reason it's radical is because the cultural norm is to blame, and you are breaking that norm... even if you look powerless in comparison to others... because you know you're choosing.

When you go to Harv Eker's "Enlightened Warrior Training Camp" on the first day you sign an agreement. One of the items in that agreement is " I agree to be responsible for my own learning and results. I agree not to complain, blame, or play the victim." Another one is "I agree to be kind and encourage myself and my fellow warriors and not judge or criticize anyone or anything." It sets the space for radical personal responsibility. You still acknowledge your challenges, you just don't bother blaming them on anyone. It's amazing how good it feels to do that!

Since attending Warrior I have succeeded in retraining myself to do this as a matter of daily course. Now when I make a mistake I don't even bother wasting my energy making an excuse. I just say "I'm sorry, I have no excuse. How can I help fix this?" In the past, at my worst, I would try and make it look like it was my client's fault that I missed a deadline, or that I got sick, or that they asked too much of me, or whatever. So part of it is to not take on more commitments than you can follow through on. Under-commit, over-acheive.

Also, I used to be paralyzed when it came to taking action. I was a perfectionist, which means I did almost nothing. Everything had to be just so in order for me to take anything on, and even then I'd hum and haw and avoid because I was afraid of screwing it up, I was afraid to say "no" and so would commit to stuff I didn't want to do, didn't know how to do, didn't have time to do... and I felt completely controlled by people and events, and was constantly dropping the ball, getting in trouble (ie. people getting mad at me for not living up to my commitments). Now I say no. Now I do what I said I would do because I only commit to things I know I will do, will have time to do, will have motivation and desire to do. Sounds selfish but really I'm doing everyone a favor because this means I'm not letting people down left right and center... including myself.

Harv's seminars have literally transformed me. I can't say enough about them. And the beauty of it is he gives his introductory 3 day seminar (valued at over $1200) away for a very low cost... The cost of his book... at the time of this writing If you buy the book you get 2 free tickets... and if you go to this seminar you will be offered an serious discount on the Enlightened Warrior Training Camp seminar (as well as any other of Harv's seminars you're interested in). This introductory seminar touches on many aspects of the Enlightened Warrior seminar and is primarily focused around creating a personal transformation of your fears and hangups around money that prevent you from creating the security and abundance you want. It's called "Millionaire Mind Intensive". All you've gotta do is show up and enjoy. It's a fun and fascinating and enlightening weekend. I came out of there full of creativity, seeing opportunity everywhere I look.

This fall I'll be attending Harv's "Ultimate Leadership Training Camp" which is a big deal for me since I'm a majorly introverted lone wolf, do it all yourself kind of guy... which is seriously stunting the growth of my business! So leadership ho! Here I come!:-) Time for a new growth spurt!

Anyway, you can learn more about the Millionaire Mind seminar and the principles it teaches you (at a very deep level I might add) at the following links:
Click here to buy the book and get your 2 free tickets.
Click here to participate in the teleclass (this is a short seminar given over the phone).
Click here to check out a live evening seminar in your area.

Scott Mooney
scott[at]moon-man.com
Personal Breakthrough Coach
Time heals all, EFT heals it faster.
<a href="http://eft-in-guelph.com"target="_blank">www.eft-in-guelph.com

The Law of Attraction is Keeping me Fit!

Here's a story about the law of attraction manifesting what you want in your life. The Law of Attraction is the principle that the things you consistently focus on begin to be magnetized to you and find their way into your life... be they good or bad. It's sort of like karma.

I exercise every day and it's just a part of my morning routine. If I don't do it I feel stiff and dopey all day, and after a while I get really skinny and physically weak. Before I made it my habit to do strength training every day I hovered around 140 pounds... and I'm six feet tall, so that makes for one skinny dude. Add a little pot belly to that and I'm not feeling too attractive either. So I like to do strength training to keep at least somewhat bulked up and feeling strong and energetic.

There are certain exercises my body craves and I never had the space for the gear that would allow me to do it. These are body weight exercises, akin to moves one would use to climb a tree. For years I've wished I had a sturdy waist-high bar... ever since I saw Bette Midler in the movie "Ruthless People" (with Danny DeVito) where she gets kidnapped and spends her time working out in her strangely harmless captor's basement, making herself stronger by placing a broom stick across two chair backs and doing a sort of reverse push ups... pull ups. That was the exercise I really wanted to be able to do and never could. the chairs and broomstick just seemed too unstable and even dangerous. I've been messing around with free-weights but those are mostly weight lifting exercises. I wanted body lifting exercises. But I made due with the free-weights, power yoga, and some running and got some pretty good results.

Then one night I'm up late, a bit bored, so I flip on the TV (a truly rare event for me) and catch the tail end of this infomercial for a device called "the Lebert Equalizer"... which happens to be everything I've been dreaming of having and more! Not only did it offer the upside down push/pull ups, but it also had a bunch of other cool exercises. Wow, get me some of those! I thought... and then another program came on and I promptly turned off the TV and went to bed, forgetting all about the cool Equalizer thing.

Fast forward to weeks later. My wife says, "Hey, I just found out our friend Marc is totally into personal development just like you are! You guys should get together!" Mark is a personal trainer and owns a gym, called Fuel, in Mississauga, Ontario, just outside of Toronto. So, after a volley of emails between me and Marc I make an astonishing discovery... My friend Marc Lebert is the inventor of the Equalizer! I couldn't believe it! Not only that, but he came to my house and showed me some exercises I could do with them and gave me a short set of exercises to use as a daily routine (see the illustration above).

Now I've been doing this short routine almost every day for 9 days and I'm experiencing really noticeable muscle growth. I'm almost 40 years old now and I've never been this muscular before in my life... not even when I was planting trees all day for 8 weeks every summer in my 20's. Now I'm up to 160 pounds and lean. So that's 20 pounds of extra muscle, and these Equalizer bars have a lot to do with it now, breaking me past a plateau in my progress. So my body was right in craving these things... and the universe brought them to me! Thanks again, Law of Attraction!

Above is an illustration of the exercise routine Marc gave me. It really fills in the gaps my yoga and free-weights can't fill... especially in the triceps, upper back and chest. I describe it below in an email I just sent to my life/business/EFT coach, <a href="http://tinyurl.com/nmjeh"target="_blank">Paul Cutright. He's been helping me adjust my attitude toward money, since I tend to struggle with the issue quite a bit... issues of deservedness, or ability. One of the things he suggested I try as a way to adjust my thinking on it is when I recieve money, hold it in my hands, look at it, and bless it. Hold it and be grateful for it. Today I received a cheque for something. I tried it, and here's what came out of it. The email said:

Hi Paul...

I'm sitting here looking at a cheque I was sent, payment for an illustration license, and I'm blessing it like you said to do, and suddenly I can see that this money isn't even cash... but it's still money... it's just a piece of paper with an agreement on it. Money is just an agreement. It's a little piece of good faith. It's a simple denotation of an exchange of value. And somehow I can see that value is love. I'm not getting an articulate connection right now, but I can sense the thread there. Love is nothing but a particular intention... which is a particular pattern of energy (and is simultaneously information) that we create with our thought.

So, I think the trick to making money is to structure the exchange of love so that it is expressed as currency. I lovingly give my value, preferably in a way that it is self replicating outside of myself structured as a business. My business is an expression of my love for the world. And then the love which that inspires in others is returned to me as money, and I receive that money gratefully as I would receive someone's love... which I reciprocate with even more love... and so on. And so it grows. And that is how good business thrives.

I feel like I'm sitting on an epiphany here. Like it's more than words, it's a real guttural visceral understanding. I'm just holding on to the thread here, drawing it in slowly.

Thanks Paul!
Scott
***
Scott Mooney
Dynamic Comics-Style Illustration;
Perfect for training and education!
<a href="http://www.moon-man.com/"target="_blank">www.moon-man.com

My Blogs:
Recent Art Work and Interviews
<a href="http://www.moon-man.blogspot.com/"target="_blank">www.moon-man.blogspot.com

Self Development Resources
<a href="http://www.artofselfdev.blogspot.com/"target="_blank">www.artofselfdev.com

Be Free With EFT

How to do EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

If you’re like me, you have a lot of fears, unsupportive emotions, aversions, or conflicting beliefs that prevent you from feeling good and moving towards what you really want in your life. What would you say if I told you there’s a technique you can use that could eliminate a lifelong phobia, a powerful aversion to a person or task or situation, and even physical pains and ailments in a matter of minutes? Not only that, but that you can learn this process in a few minutes for free? Sounds like a pretty kooky claim, right? Where’s my fast talking infomercial;) Well, I will say that in many cases this process will require persistence over time, but I have experienced instant results as described above on many occasions, at least 50% of things I’ve tried it on. Other things have taken more time, a week or two, to take effect. The process I’m talking about is called EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique.

What I am about to tell you is really just the basic recipe. I’m not an EFT master, and you don’t have to be a master to get amazing results with EFT. This is a description of what is referred to as “mechanical EFT” Which means you go through these simple steps and you will get results… even if you are just reading off the paper and aren’t sure if you believe it will work. What I am about to tell you is really just the basic recipe. This alone is very effective. If you want it to be even more effective, or you want to learn more details, there are some excellent resources for you to explore at the end of this article.

What is EFT Anyway? EFT stands for “Emotional Freedom Technique”, though since it’s been named it’s been found to have profound effects on things that are traditionally considered physical ailments.

I describe it as a combo of acupressure and affirmations (I’ll explain the acupressure points in a moment). It’s generally considered a clearing procedure, meaning it clears out emotions and beliefs that hold you back from whatever you’re trying to make happen in your life, be they financial success, health, relationships, performance, phobias or aversions, or simply to feel better. Amazingly, EFT also has incredible effects on muscle tension, cramps, migraines, and has at least some positive effect on just about any ailment it’s been tried on. You can use it for little things too, like a phone call or chore you’re avoiding. It is very common that strong phobias, pains and other intense emotions are eliminated in minutes. Other times it may take a few extra repetitions. And some issues will need daily or weekly repetitions to maintain the effect, depending on what it its.

Using EFT for Physical Issues:
Reportedly, physical illnesses or injuries will heal more slowly than emotional things… However I’ve helped my wife use EFT to diminish debilitating menstrual cramps in a matter of seconds. The intensity of these cramps was really severe, at a level ten. She could not even stand and was on the brink of losing consciousness, her face went completely white. My wife is a wedding photographer, and we were in the middle of shooting the wedding party group shots when the cramps and nausea struck. The wedding party disbanded to go bring out the parents. Trina and I had only a few moments. We started tapping and before I even got past five or six points Trina was astounded by how much her pain and nausea and the feeling of losing consciousness subsided. At first she described the symptoms being reduced by 70% in a matter of about 15 seconds. Later she described it as going down by 80%.

The following month the cramps came back even more intensely, and Trina was getting really distressed about it. Luckily we weren’t shooting a wedding this time! When we finally got her calm enough to accept some tapping (I was tapping on her points for her this time) within five or ten minutes we got her symptoms down to nearly zero.

Another time Trina got a migraine after eating out with friends. Normally this means 24 hours of debilitating symptoms including nausea and impaired vision and a very painful headache and muscle pain. We got in the car and started driving home. As I drove I coached Trina through the process and the migraine was eliminated in about 10 minutes of repeating the procedure.

Wanna know how to do it now? Okay…

The Tapping Points:

Below I’ll describe the tapping points to clarify this illustration. If you’d like a free printable PDF with comprehensive point form instructions, email me at scott[at]moon-man.com (remember to put the @ symbol where I put [at]) and put "EFT Cheat Sheet Please" in the subject line. (See “EFT Cheat Sheet” at the end of this article.)

How to Tap: When you go through the procedure, tap each point rapidly and comfortably, 7 times or more until you finish the phrase. You can tap with several fingers at once to make sure you’re hitting the point if you like. And if your face is too sensitive, you can just do the body and hand points. Same if your hands are too sensitive… focus on the face and body. If the Karate chop point is not an option, you can rub the sore spots on the chest instead (Click here to see this explained in Gary Craig’s free manual).

Here Are the Points:

Karate Chop point: the edge of your hand on the pinky side, in the middle of the fleshy side part between your wrist and the first knuckle of your little finger.

Eyebrow Point: the inner end of your eyebrow, near where the bridge of your nose meets your brow.

Side of the eye: on the outer edge of the bone around your eye socket (orbital bone).

Under the eye: On the edge of the bone just under your eye.

Under Nose: between bottom of the nose and top of the lip.

Under chin, in the divot between chin and lower lip.

Collarbone: Under the bump of the collarbone where it meets the sternum, in the divot there.

Under arm: on the side of the torso where the seam of a shirt would cross the bra strap on a woman, or would be level with the nipple for a man.

Thumbnail point: Look at the back of your hand, with the fingers pointing up to the sky. Tap the inside bottom corner of the thumbnail (if it’s your left hand it’s the bottom right corner of the nail, if it’s the right hand it’s the bottom left corner).

Index finger: same place as on the thumb.

Middle finger: same place again

Skip the ring finger and go straight to the pinky… same spot on that fingernail.

Back of the hand: between and below the knuckles of pinky and ring finger, there’s a hollow spot. Tap there.

Here’s the Procedure:

1. Identify Your Issue. What’s bothering you or holding you back? Tune in to your issue, rate it's intensity from 1-10, 10 being most intense. What body sensations, emotions, self talk, mental impressions, memories, or fantasies are coming up? Write down a few of the most prominent aspects of it.

2. The Setup: Tapping continuously on the karate chop point (point 1 on the diagram) with all four fingers for good coverage, repeat 3 times "Even though I have this [state your issue and/or aspect], I deeply and profoundly love and accept myself." Saying it with emphasis and even emotion works better.

Use your own real words and expressions: Even if they involve swearing, primal sounds, physical gestures, mime, or grammatically incorrect phrases. The idea is to tune in to the feelings behind the words, and your own expressions are the best ones to do that.

3. The Sequence: tapping about 8 times per point (points 2-13), repeat at each point a short reminder phrase i.e. "this fear of heights" or “this tension in my lower back…”

A Note on Shortcuts: If you want to try a shortcut later, you can stop at the under-the-arm point and see how that feels, tuning in, seeing what comes up, and rating the intensity again, as described below. But for now, do it with the whole procedure for the sake of thoroughness to increase your chance of results.

4. The 9 Gamut: I call this “The Brain Gym Part”: This part may seem silly, and you’re invited to laugh through the whole thing if you like! The point of it is to activate different parts of the brain to get it involved in redesigning how it responds to your issue. Pointing your eyes in specific directions and humming a tune and counting are stimulating the various functions of the brain involved in cognition and memory/imagination/emotion access.

Tap point 13 (back of hand in the indentation towards the wrist between the first knuckles of the pinky and ring finger) continuously throughout this stage...
a. Deep Breath with eyes closed.
b. Open eyes looking straight ahead.
c. With Eyes only (your nose still points straight ahead) look hard down to the right,
d. Look hard down to the left
e. Roll your eyes all the way around in a big circle one way,
f. Roll your eyes all the way around the other way.
g. Hum a few bars of a song (like “Happy Birthday”),
h. Quickly count "1 2 3 4 5"
i. Hum a few bars of a song. Stop

5. The Sequence Again: Repeat the face, body and hand points with the reminder phrase.Tapping about 8 times per point (points 2-13), repeat at each point a short reminder phrase i.e. "this fear of heights" or “this tension in my lower back…”

6. Tune In Again: Take a deep breath and tune in again. Take note of anything that comes up for you. Any changes to how you feel about the issue, any new aspects you notice.

7. Rate the Intensity Again, see if it went up or down. Don’t worry if it went up. It probably means you’ve revealed an aspect you hadn’t thought of. This is good because it means you can tap for that aspect and lessen or eliminate it. Make a note of it on your list and tap for it. If you’re not sure what it is you can say “Even though I have this thing that I don’t know what it is, I deeply…” The procedure works on the emotional charge you feel, not on the words per se.

8. Repeat the whole procedure... for specific aspects until your intensity rating goes down significantly, Ideally get it to zero. This time your setup and reminder phrase should say “even though I have this remaining {insert issue or aspect here} I deeply and …” This helps your subconscious acknowledge that the intensity is changing and moving downward to zero. You will probably be able to get it to zero quite often. Go through again, tapping for other aspects.

What’s an aspect? Aspects are scenarios that accompany your issue. If I’m tapping for an aversion to my accounting, aspects of that aversion would be:
a. Feeling stupid like I did in math class throughout my schooling
b. Frustration with my software
c. Tension in my shoulders
d. This deep burning sensation in my chest and belly
e. This emotionally charged phrase “I HATE this!!” running through my head.
f. Clenched Jaw
g. Feeling like “I don’t have time for this!”
(Can you tell this one is a big issue for me?;-)

You can experiment and say a different aspect for each tapping point if you like, to cover more ground in a single round. However, if an aspect is really strong you may want to focus strictly on it for the whole round. Example: say you started with a global issue like “Even though I have this fear of heights, I deeply and…” Perhaps a particular aspect will come up that seems really strong contributor to your intensity… “Even though I feel dizzy on the balcony…“ or whatever.

Shortcuts: There is an art to using shortcuts. Stopping at step 3 comprises one shortcut and often is enough knowledge to do the job. Going through the whole long process helps take care of psychological reversal, which is fairly common, and is discussed in detail in the manual and courses. For now I’ll just mention that, to my understanding, psychological reversal is the phenomenon of gravitating towards the opposite of what you want. Part of this full procedure… the setup part, I believe… is especially designed to un-reverse the psychological reversal. There's a great explanation of Psychological Reversal (P.R.) in Gary Craig's manual.

As you go through the process feel free to giggle, snort, say joke affirmations like "Even though I'm not sure this goofy EFT thing is going to do anything..." Have fun with it and approach it as an experiment. The worse that can happen is nothing. And apparently you don’t even have to believe in it in order for it to work. So if you’re skeptical, just go through the procedure and for the time being pretend that it really does work and see what happens.

I’ll give you another story…

I’m a professional illustrator and a comic book artist. I’ve been searching for ages for a way to apply my love of visual and written communication to help people make real and direct changes in their lives. I’d decided I wanted to create training materials for people like myself who are interested in radical self development. I decided that this was my mission, my reason for being alive on this Earth, with these illustration skills and this passion for the tools of personal growth. Working with trainers of the caliber of Paul Cutright or T. Harv Eker was fast becoming my dream of dreams.

The first time I learned about EFT I was listening to an audio set created by said multimillionaire trainer and owner of Peak Potentials Training, T. Harv Ecker. The set was called “Wealth and Wisdom” and featured many guest speakers. One was Paul Cutright giving a presentation of EFT, where he taught the audience what I’m teaching you here. I tapped along with the recording while Mr. Cutright had the entire audience tapping for their issues. I was really intrigued. So much that I listened through the whole two hours again, and this time I took notes. I drew a picture of myself holding my arm in a position so that all the tapping points were visible at once, and I numbered the points. Later it occurred to me to email this image to Paul Cutright and see if I’d get a response. Did I ever! He loved the illustration! We volleyed emails for a while, talking about art and photography (Paul and I both come from a fine art background) and then he asked if I’d be interested in illustrating his newly revised manual! “When can we talk on the phone?” he typed.

My adrenaline went through the roof. To me this guy was/is a rock star and a wise master in one. And now he wanted to work with me… of all people! The morning we were to talk I was beside myself with nervousness. My heart was beating so heard it was bouncing off my lungs and making my voice shake like crazy. I couldn’t talk to Paul Cutright like this! I felt like a freaked out teenager, not a professional communicator. I could not calm down with meditation or deep breathing, or even jogging… and I was running out of time. So I decided to try this EFT thing. I Put the Wealth and Wisdom audio on and let Paul Cutright’s voice guide me through the procedure, saying “Even though I’m REALLY nervous to talk to Paul Cutright today, I deeply and profoundly love and accept myself!”

Within three rounds, about five minutes or so, my nervousness went down to zero. The phone rang. For an instant I felt a teeny bit of that nervousness again, but as soon as Paul said hello I was totally fine, just like talking with any other client. Since then not only have I never been nervous to talk to Paul, I’m also no longer nervous to talk to other new potential clients who I have loaded some sort of great importance on, including a famous author, a majorly big-time literary/entertainment agent, and an extremely prestigious publisher I was working on a deal with. These people would have had me shaking in my boots before. Now I’m able to chat with them like a normal person and build sincere relationships with them. I can tell you right now this has had a major beneficial effect on my career.

Experiment and Be Persistent:
So try it out, be persistent, and have fun with it. Take a peek at Gary Craig’s Website (http://tinyurl.com/h7vrd), download the free startup package, which is basically his manual as a printable eBook, and a subscription to his extensive, informative, and inspiring newsletter.

Paul Cutright, EFT Master and coach, has an excellent 5 day course (About an hour per day) that you can use to become really good at this. Paul’s course is great because it’s relatively short and is very practical… plus I really like Paul. He’s an amazing coach (he’s actually my coach now) and it totally comes through to you in the audios. I was able to complete the course in only a few days part time. After that I had no problem getting great results coaching friends and family through the process, helping them heal in a variety of ways, all of them simple and fun, many with instant results. It includes downloadable videos, audios, and manuals. A lot of the course (and the most effective part, imho) consists of the 5 training MP3s that you can play on your way to work, on your lunch break, while exercising, or whatever. It covers Gary’s Manual plus another manual by Christine Sutherland. click here to learn more about Paul's 5 day course

Gary Craig is the creator of the EFT process. He has a free manual, newsletter, and lots of free info on his website that you can use to learn more about the process and its applications. I’ve read the manual and used that material to great effect in helping others to benefit from this. Click here for that free starter package. If you want further training to really see this in action, you can watch some of Gary's training DVD videos where you can se him treating real cases with EFT, and see the reults. They're an extremely valuable learning resource for a surprisingly low price. Click here to see the DVD page.

Carol Look is an EFT Master and trainer with a book called “Attracting Abundance with EFT”. As of this writing I haven’t gone through that course yet, but I’ve heard great reports on it from other EFT practitioners and it’s definitely going to be required study for me in the very near future. I’ll be buying the eBook, since it also comes with a bunch of extra electronic resources, including guided practices with audios on MP3. She also has a series of recorded radio shows you can listen to for free where she interviews other trainers and you can learn a lot there too.

And I’m Scott Mooney, illustrator, communicator, healer and student. It's because our minds are constantly reaching all over the place for inspiration, for new ideas, new connections and we have a hard time holding on to concrete routines.

I’ve discovered and integrated into my life a system that makes it easy to choose and accomplish my big dreams. To all the cartoonists, designers, dancers musicians, painters, sculptors comics artists, writers, film makers, actors, performance artists, comedians, poets, photographers, directors, choreographers… who am I missing? Our scattered multi-directional minds may be our greatest strength, but can also present some major life obstacles when we try to use that same thinking style on all of our day to day actions. Following through on a goal takes a certain amount of consistency and relentlessness. these attributes are easy for us while working on a project of great passion. But what about the other parts of our lives that support those passionate dreams? Things like money management, marketing, keeping up relationships with friends and clients and spouses, improving our emotional intelligence, our health, financial prowess, building our personal abundance? It takes focus, and a willingness to overcome our internal obstacles.

My name’s Scott Mooney. I’m one of those super-scatterbrained creative types. I’m a comic book artist, commercial illustrator (see www.moon-man.com), I manage systems and marketing for my family photography business with my wife (www.trinakoster.com), I’m a visionary, and as of this writing I’ve been a hardcore student of personal development for over three years. The courses, books, audios, seminars and coaching that I’ve ingested have made incredible improvements in my life and in how I feel about it. But still my scattered mind has kept me spinning my wheels professionally… until now.

In May of 2003 I was 4 years depressed and feeling like I was on the brink emotional breakdown, I got desperate enough to drop my barriers and put my trust in a great personal development trainer. Some may think he’s cheesy but he truly saved me from my accelerating downward spiral… or rather, he gave me the tools and motivation to rescue my own life. It was Tony Robbins with his 30 day Personal Power course. That step changed my life forever, putting me on a continuous journey of rapid and dramatic personal growth. But none of that incredible emotional success was showing up on my bank statement. I was still too scattered and confused to really take control of, or even to think about my life’s action plan. I was still relying on helter skelter fits of inspiration to get things done… and very few things really got done.

No day planner, scheduling system, or bing-bonging PalmPilot worked for me because what I had been assuming was a time management problem was really a focus problem. The only reason I know this now is because I’ve taken this course, called Simpleology, and integrated the systematic process I learned into my daily life and I've seen the difference in what has really changed. This course has shown me a simple way to create focus in my life with natural ease. I no longer have to force myself, bullwhipping my attention into staying on one thing. All I changed was a few habits and the results started to show immediately.

How can we stay focused on what we want in our lifes in a way that makes it really happen? Some people seem to have a natural talent for it. Not me. I’m all over the place… and I like it that way! Seeing things from many angles and getting inspired and interested in a lot of things is the source of my creativity and joy. I don’t want to give that up. However, I do want to create success and abundance in all areas of my life… abundance of creativity, fun, love, money, health, contribution, emotional intelligence, learning and having profound experiences. To that end I want to be able to focus on some key specific things and make them happen in my life.

It's a personal-focus system I have by now absorbed on a cellular level. I want to emphasize it's not about focusing harder, which was my old way. It's about focusing better. Simpleology 101 is a free course created by internet marketing Guru, Mark Joyner. Included in this course is a step by step system that keeps you focused on, and excited about what you really want in life, and it keeps you taking daily steps towards the accomplishment of those things. It’s about a thirty-day internet based course that’s broken up into little bite-sized packets that take about 15 minutes a day. Not only does this make it really easy to fit into your day, but it allows you to deeply absorb each lesson one at a time and allow them to become a natural part of your thinking.

Simpleology 101 is a very solid foundation of being able to manage your time and energy very effectively. Even though Mark saves the Simpleology money-training for the next course, Simpleology 102, this course (101) alone has massively helped me to more than triple my income, and that took place within 6 months. For me that came about simply by being able to focus on my roles in our photography business and accomplish my work effectively and with more fun so I stay motivated.

Simpleology 102 is only about a hundred bucks to join up and it’s focus is about creating more money in your life. It’s an excellent course, I’ve taken it myself and it’s made huge improvements in the way I run my two businesses. Taking the 101 course first is essential for getting the most out of 102. Basically what these courses do is teach you a daily system. 101 teaches you the system, and 102 teaches you a new piece of the system to add on to 101.

One thing to note is once you’re signed up to that course you have access to it permanently. You can take the course again, or revisit specific lessons as you wish. The forms and checklist and audios and the manual are downloadable for you to keep forever. You can print them off your own printer or at a copy shop.

It’s a focus-creation system… it’s basically a checklist and a few simple forms you run through each morning to help you stay focused and choose effective tasks for yourself to accomplish in your day, and it also keeps you in tune with your Big Picture. There’s even an element that helps you create your big picture. If the word “planning” makes you cringe the way it does for me, don’t worry. It really is simple. You just take it one step at a time, a little piece each day, and over a bit of time it begins to come together. You change it, tweak it, and discover what’s really important to you and what isn’t. You take steps and amazingly things get accomplished. For me it was more fun than I ever expected, and a real rush in the beginning because of the dramatic transformation in my ability to get things done. Now I’m just used to it and it seems normal to be able to do these things.

And the best part is I still have my creative mind, and it’s more powerful than ever before as the dreams I create with it are coming true. This is because I’m systematically taking actions that bring them about.

If you’re resisting the idea I suggest doing the first few lessons for a few days and see if it’s helping you. There’s nothing to lose, since the course is free anyway. I found that even in the first couple of days I was saving so much time at work that the 15 to 20 minutes I took in the morning to do it was well more than made up for.

Another suggestion I can make is to approach it with an open mind and a sense of play and experimentation. To make real change in our lives we need to do things that seem unusual. If they seemed usual or normal to us that would mean we’re doing the same stuff we always do, which means we’d get the same results. If the results are desirable, if they’re helping you to improve things steadily and noticeably, that’s great, keep doing it. And if you want to change your results more dramatically, you’ll need to push the envelope a bit. If an exercise in the course seems silly or pointless, makes you grumble or laugh or shake your head at its silliness, that’s okay. Try it anyway. The worst that can happen is nothing. What's more likely to happen is a marked improvement in the fun and profit you experience in your daily life.

Why is the course free? Because Mark Joyner thinks enough people will like it enough to want to pay for 102. And he’s right. I enrolled in 102 and I’m glad I did. I don’t even use the entire system and it’s still making a big difference.

So check it out! Don’t wait. The sooner you start the course the sooner you start saving time, energy and money, and being more effective in your life. Go to; http://imaginate.simpleology.com/?L1

And once you do, I'd love to hear from you and see what your experience with it has been!
Cheers!
Scott Mooney
